Adept SmartMotion Developer's Guide

Verify Adept SmartMotion Hardware Installation

The SRV.NET command scans the SmartServo network, identifies the available hardware and displays the information in the monitor window as illustrated in the following figure. The information displayed will vary depending on your hardware installation.

After the SRV.NET executes, information for each node in the Adept SmartServo Network is displayed on the screen. A node refers to a specific device attached to the network. For example, a node can be a robot, a motion board (sMI6), a digital I/O module (sDIO), etcetera. Each node can contain one or more gadgets. For example, the Adept SmartMotion Interface module has six (axis) gadgets (one for each axis channel) that can be mapped to individual robot axes.

To confirm that the Adept SmartMotion hardware is properly installed:

Type SRV.NET at the V+ monitor prompt. Then, press Enter to display the hardware configuration information for the SmartServo network.

In the figure below, the network has 3 nodes. The attached devices are: a V+ Controller, an Adept SmartMotion Interface module, and an Adept SmartAmp. If information on all the hardware in your system is not displayed, refer to the Adept SmartMotion Installation Guide for details on correcting hardware installation problems.
