V+ 12.4 Release Notes |
Configuring an AWC Module
The sections below describe how to configure the AWC board when used with V+ version 12.4.
AWC Board DIP-Switch Settings
This section describes the hardware DIP-switch settings for the AWC board when used in an Adept MV controller with V+ version 12.4. The AWC processor must be removed from the controller to set this DIP switch. See AWC Board Components Placement for the location of DIP switch SW1.
The hardware DIP switches on the main AWC board must be set to one of the following patterns:
V+ version 12.4 will refuse to run on an AWC board if the hardware DIP switches are set to some other pattern. (The refusal is indicated by the error "*[Fatal] Invalid CPU config*", and the software status LEDs [i.e., the left-hand column] on the AWC board display Off-Red-Off.)The DIP switches on the front panel of the SYSIO are used to select the same options as all Adept MV controllers. See the Adept MV Controller User's Guide for details.
CPU Board Number Assignment
An AWC main processor and an AWC auxiliary processor may be installed in the same Adept MV controller chassis. Each AWC board must have a unique board address, that is set with DIP Switch SW1 on the AWC board. SW1 Settings for AWC Used as an Auxiliary Processor shows the switch settings for processor module #2. See AWC Board Components Placement for the location of DIP switch SW1.
