V+ 12.4 Release Notes |
AWC Board
The AWC board is a single-slot 6U VME module that plugs into the backplane of any Adept MV chassis, including MV-4, MV-5, MV-8, MV-10, and MV-19.
Figure 6-1. AWC Board Components PlacementProcessors
There are several processor/memory configurations for the AWC board. See AWC Board Specifications (When Used With V+ 12.4) for details. See AWC Board Components Placement for the location of the processor on the board.
The performance of a particular processor/memory configuration depends on the application and the way the application program is written. Typically, the AWC 060 has 1.5 to 2 times the processing power of the AWC 040.
The additional RAM on certain AWC board designs is provided through a memory expansion PCA (see AWC Board Components Placement). While this is removable, it is considered by Adept to be an integral part of the AWC board. (The AWC board is tested and stocked with the memory expansion board installed.) Therefore, do not tamper with the memory expansion PCA.
Compact Flash
The Compact Flash is not installed (and is disabled) when using the AWC board with V+ version 12.4.
EEPROM
The NVRAM functionality is disabled when using an AWC with V+ version 12.4. (The NVRAM on the SIO board is accessed.)
AWC Board Specifications
The table below describes the specifications of the AWC board when used with V+ version 12.4.
