V+ Functionality

All of the following functionality of the SYSIO is supported, with complete backward compatibility:

All three serial ports on the front panel of each AWC board (i.e., the main processor board and each auxiliary processor board) can be used. The correspondence with the ports on an 040 or 030 CPU is as follows:

NOTE: CONFIG_C version 12.4 edit A (or later) must be used to configure the third local serial port. If the system disk has been configured with a third serial port for any processor board, and an 040 or 030 processor board is used in that position, the configuration of the "extra" serial port is ignored.

Use of the following system options (and others) is not affected in any way by the type of main processor board being used with V+ version 12.4:

Ethernet communication using either 10BASE-T or 100BASE-T is supported by the AWC board. The system automatically detects the speed being used on the Ethernet cable.
