V+ 12.4 Release Notes |
Hardware Configuration Requirements
This section lists the hardware configuration requirements that apply when using an AWC board in an Adept MV controller with V+ version 12.4.
- AWC, 040, and 030 boards can be used together in an Adept MV controller. The only restriction is that if a mixture of AWC and other boards is used, the main processor board must be an AWC board. (Otherwise, the V+ system will not be successfully loaded from disk.)
- As in an AdeptWindows controller, multiple AWC boards can be used in an Adept MV Controller. When that is done, the serial ports on all the processors are accessible (see below), but the Ethernet port on only the main processor is functional.
- When a front panel is being used, it must be a VFP connected to the SYSIO, as with an 040 or 030 board. The Controller Interface Panel (CIP) cannot be used when an AWC board is used with V+ version 12.4.
- If the system has the network option installed, the Ethernet connection is provided by the AWC board. That is, the AWC board replaces the 040 board and the NET transition module.
- The only cables affected by the use of an AWC board in an Adept MV Controller are the cables to the serial ports on the board. The table below describes the available serial ports on the AWC, 040, and 030 boards.
