V+ 12.4 Release Notes |
Introduction
This chapter describes the features and restrictions when using an AWC board in place of an 040 or 030 board in an Adept MV controller. The following terminology is used:
Adept MV controller An Adept controller that uses one or more 040 and/or 030 processor boards with a SYSIO and possibly with a VFP. The operating system is V+ version 12.4 or earlier. See the Adept MV Controller User's Guide for details.
AdeptWindows controller An Adept controller that uses one or more AWC processors, possibly with a SYSIO and possibly with a CIP. The operating system is V+ version 13.0 or later. See the Adept MV Controller User's Guide for V+ 13.0 or Later for details.
Use of V+ version 12.4 with an AWC board in an Adept MV controller is essentially the same as use of V+ version 12.4 with an 040 or 030 processor board. Thus, for example, access to the SYSIO (disks, serial ports, DIO, MCP, VFP), VGB, DIO, Ethernet, etc., are not changed in any way.
